Climate Consortium Denmark
Hosting COP15 gives Danish businesses and universities a unique opportunity to demonstrate Danish climate solutions, competences and skills to visitors from around the world.
A large number of foreign delegations are expected to arrive in Denmark in 2009, leading up to and during the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December. World leaders, government officials, politicians, journalists, and scientists are also expected. In the long term, this could have a substantial marketing value for Danish businesses in the global market and contribute to attracting investors, labour and other benefits to Denmark.
As a result, the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, other trade organizations and the Branding Denmark Fund have formed Climate Consortium Denmark.
Climate Consortium Denmark was established in June 2008 as a public-private partnership. The founders of the Consortium are The Branding Denmark Fund, the Confederation of Danish Industry, the Danish Construction Association, the Danish Energy Association, the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, and the Danish Wind Industry Association. The main purpose of Climate Consortium Denmark is to strengthen the awareness of the competences and products of Danish businesses and universities in the field of climate and energy, leading up to and during the UN Climate Change Conference.
In addition, Climate Consortium Denmark is the official focal point for all Danish business-related activities leading up to the COP15 UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in 2009.
